Day 1&2  Vientiane.... on arrival with an welcome and tranquilt feeling; walk through the sleepy streets of this riverside capital to visit the monks at Wat Ong Teu, which houses a large Buddha image in the distinctive Laotian style pagoda; pay a visit to the gilding That Luang stupa, the famous and sacred  structure right in downtown; marvel at the beautiful complex of Buddha Park built in the 1950s after a short ride to the ouskirt of Vientiane; wander back and forth long aisles packed with silk and hand-woven textiles in Vientiane's huge fabric market, then visit a weaving workshop to learn about Laos' traditional weaving techniques.
Day 4Â Around Luang Prabang vicinity..... visit and interact with outlying ethnic minority villages to learn about the locals' traditional crafts and fabrics; cruise downstream the river to the Pak Ou caves, a series of cave shrines that house hundreds of ancient lacquered Buddha statues; discover the community natural bath tub by the riverside as children and locals gather for their daily bath but never forget to throw you a smile with hand waving.Â

Day 5 Departure.... Shop for handmade crafts and ethnic minority fabrics in Luang Prabang's many quaint gift shops, then prepare for departure or onward with your next  itinerary.Â
