Excellent 10 days private tour of Cambodia

I have to say that I was nervous about working with a tour company in Asia vs. US or UK company to create our holiday to Cambodia but I can tell you that Indochina Voyages was first class all the way. First, we worked with Nam to create our custom holiday (private for just the 2 of us at a better than expected price). We put down the deposit and then paid the remainder before we left on holiday. Service overall was excellent. We had airport pick up with our guide and driver and then 2 days in Phnom Penh, before onwards to Battambang and Siem Reap before coming back to Phnom Penh and flying out. The quality of our two tour guides was first class!
For Phnom Penh and Battambang, we were with Daream Prom (licensed tour guide) and he was excellent at filling us in on Cambodian history (including recent history/politics) and allowing us to really feel like we were getting to know the culture and people. For Siem Reap we were in the hands of Vuthy (Mr. T) Khoun (licensed tour guide) and again felt like we received a great introduction to Siem Reap – the history of the temples and local culture. Both of our guides made sure we felt taken care of and were able to be flexible with the tour requirements. (My husband sprained his knee the day we left for Cambodia and so we needed to take things a whole lot slower than we thought – of course, that is the joy of a private tour – it was just us, so no need to feel like we were holding anyone else up!) Finally, the tour company was able to accommodate my vegetarianism – both guides did well in checking with restaurants etc that the food was OK for me to eat. Overall, excellent service, staying in great hotels. I would definitely use Indochina Voyages again for when I plan to go back to South East Asia on holiday!
