Myanmar in January ’24 with Indochina Voyages: Rewarding & Amazing!

Wanting to revisit Myanmar, I found tour options at Indochina Voyages via an internet search and I am glad we connected. Through some easy communication online, we crafted a custom, 10-day trip covering all the highlights. These included Yangon, Inle Lake, Kalaw, Bagan and Mandalay.

Indochina Voyage’s Tour Guide Mr. Tan and Driver Mr. Soe were wonderful. Day after day they delighted me with a great market, temple, restaurant, monastery, sunset, vineyard and/or other attraction. Simply put, they knew the best places! Through it all, Mr. Tan and Mr Soe were easy-going, informative, flexible and fun traveling companions. As a plus, they were always game to stop for a photo, snap a shot of you with your iPhone and engage some Burmese to join in the fun.

The tour organization provided by Indochina Voyages was flawless. Everything went smoothly and proceeded exactly as planned. I specified 4- and 5-star hotels and they delivered with some wonderful lodging. No surprises; only satisfaction. Thanks Indochina Voyages!

The decision on whether to go or not to go to Myanmar deserves some comment. By staying away you send a message to the current regime. But by traveling there you discover a beautiful country with warm and friendly people – many of whom, of course, rely on tourist dollars, euros, yen, etc. As a plus, you have the country largely to yourself without lines or crowds. Other, non-Burmese tourists are few and far between.

A final note: Security was never an issue or even an inconvenience. Guided by Indochina Voyages, I felt safe in Myanmar 100% of the time.
