I hopped onto my daughter’s gap year (since I never got one) and took her to southeast Asia for 5 weeks. She is 18, I am 60 as a point of reference. I got the recommendation for Indochina voyages from a good friend who travels extensively with her family and highly recommended this company. As many of the other reviews have noted, the communication was excellent from day one. Our travel coordinator was Thuy Do and I have only the highest praise for her communication and organization and help with our trip. I would for sure use this company again!. We went on the south Vietnam and Cambodia 13 day trip, then did an independent Asian elephant sanctuary experience (through Journey to Freedom-excellent as well) and then finished with 2 weeks in Thailand. For a direct comparison on the same trip, the Indochina Voyages trip was less than 1/2 as much as the US based Thailand trip; the hotels were better, the tour guides better and overall the experience was much more fun. In retrospect I wish we had used Indochina voyages for the entire trip. Although we enjoyed the entire trip our highlights included the Vespa Adventure-this was a total blast! and felt like an authentic cultural experience; the CuChi tunnels; and our time in Siem Reap (hotel and spa were amazing) especially after a hot day at the temples. As with my friend, I would highly recommend this company for any fiends/family trip.
