Also, there is a good chance to see the spectacular scenery of rolling hills and twisting rivers. A circle starts from Chiang Mai that not only travel for leisure, but also let you have a chance to support local people in community-based projects.

DAY 01: CHIANG MAI ARRIVAL – KHANTOKE DINNER

Welcome to Chiang Mai! When you arrive, our English-speaking guide will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel in Chiang Mai city. Take some time to rest and relax.

In the evening, we’ll pick you up from your hotel for a special Northern Thai dinner experience called “Khantoke.” You’ll sit on the floor and enjoy your meal from a traditional round tray, just like the local Lanna people do. Feast on delicious dishes like pork curry with ginger, spicy minced pork dip, crispy pork skin, fried chicken, banana fritters, and fresh vegetables. Everything comes with sticky rice, a Northern Thai staple.

While you eat, enjoy beautiful Thai music and dancing. Watch graceful performers show traditional dances with long fingernails, swords, and colorful costumes. You’ll also see special dances from hill tribe groups like the Akha, Yao, Lisu, and Karen. Don’t be shy – you can join in the fun Thai dance at the end!

After the show, we’ll drive you back to your hotel.

Chicken can be required instead of Pork and a Special Menu can also be arranged upon a request for a Vegetarian.

day 1 in Northern Thailand

DAY 02: CHIANG MAI – KHUM LANNA (B, L, D)

We’ll pick you up from your hotel in Chiang Mai city. Drive to the countryside retreat by private transfer without a guide. When you arrive, our friendly Lanna hosts will greet you with refreshing herbal tea or fruit juice from our garden.

After checking into your room, we’ll chat about the fun activities planned for your stay. Experience staring by learning essential Thai cooking skills, beginning with how to steam the perfect sticky rice and prepare a tasty BBQ lunch. You’ll also learn to make spicy green papaya salad. Then discover concept “Rice for Life” of Khum Lana, where you’ll learn about rice farming history and visit our organic garden. Pick fresh herbs and vegetables that you’ll use in your cooking. Enjoy a delicious lunch featuring your own BBQ creations and sticky rice.

After lunch, choose one exciting activity:

  • Bike ride through the peaceful countryside
  • Learn fruit or vegetable carving
  • Relax with a herbal steam bath
  • Enjoy a soothing hot-pressed herbal massage using eight traditional Thai herbs

Take some time to relax before your evening Thai cooking class. You’ll receive a special Khum Lanna recipe book full of delicious dishes and useful Thai words for tomorrow’s market visit. End your day with a wonderful four-course dinner you’ve cooked yourself, shared with your host and new friends.

CKHUM LANNA

DAY 03: KHUM LANNA (B, L, D) )

Start your day with a hearty breakfast at Khum Lanna. Your adventure begins with a ride in a local truck to Ban Mea Raghong, where we’ll visit the Border Patrol School. Here, you’ll learn about the Reverend Father Foster project and see how local people practice sustainable living.

Continue to Ban Pang Sane, the starting point of our nature trek. Enjoy a refreshing walk through beautiful forests to reach a stunning waterfall. Your guide will point out interesting plants and wildlife along the trail. At the waterfall, take in the natural beauty while enjoying a relaxing picnic lunch.

After lunch, Start walking one hour downhill to Akha village and stop for a cup of tea with the Akha people, you will learn about their life for Live and know why they are here! Upon reaching the ending point of the trek, you will be transferred back to Khum Lanna where you will arrive in the late afternoon.

Day 3 Bangkok to Chiangmai

DAY 04: KHUM LANNA - LISU LODGE (B, D)

Start your day early with coffee or tea on the peaceful terrace. Join us for a beautiful sunrise bike ride through the countryside to San Kwang village and onwards to Phrao. Here, explore a bustling morning market where you can try local coffee.

Walk to a traditional farmer’s shop to learn about rice farming tools and different rice varieties. Your guide can help you buy local snacks and flower garlands for temple offerings. Bike back through scenic routes, stopping at Wat Pa temple to pay respects to the Buddha image under a sacred tree.

Continue cycling along local canals, with stops in rice fields to learn about rice farming and its importance in Thai culture. Back at Khum Lanna, refresh yourself before enjoying a traditional Lanna breakfast.

After check-out, take a relaxing van ride to Lisu Lodge. Upon arrival, friendly staff will welcome you with refreshing drinks. Spend your afternoon exploring the nearby Lisu village, local temple, vegetable gardens, and the Himmapaan Nursery within the lodge grounds.

End your day with a special dinner while enjoying traditional Lisu music and dance performances.

Day 5 in Northern Thailand

DAY 05: LISU LODGE (B, L, D)

Start your day with breakfast at Lisu Lodge. Today’s adventure, “Light Trek at Pong Ngan & Bamboo Rafting,” offers a moderate activity level. After breakfast, take a scenic truck ride to the trek’s starting point. Your experienced guide will lead you on a two-hour trek through beautiful landscapes, beginning with a challenging uphill climb before an easier descent.

Upon reaching the Lahu village of Pong Ngan by the Mae Taeng River, stop for a break and enjoy a picnic lunch. In the afternoon, experience a peaceful two-hour bamboo rafting adventure down the Mae Taeng River. End your journey at Ban Sop Kai village before returning to Lisu Lodge.

Evening brings dinner and traditional Lisu music and dance performances at the lodge.

Day 5 in Northern Thailand

Day 06: LISU LODGE – ELEPHANT CAMP (B, L, D)

Begin early with breakfast at Lisu Lodge before heading to Rantong Elephant Camp for a morning of elephant encounters. Upon arrival, change into the provided outfits and attend elephant school to learn about these magnificent animals and the center’s work. Help prepare vitamins for pregnant, injured, and elderly elephants. Spend time meeting, walking with, and observing the elephants in their natural environment, including bath time.

After saying goodbye to the elephants and changing clothes, enjoy a Thai lunch with seasonal fruits. Return to Lisu Lodge in the early afternoon.

Evening features dinner and more Lisu cultural performances at the lodge.

day 6 northern Thailand

DAY 07: ISU LODGE DEPARTURE (B)

Start with breakfast at Lisu Lodge. Enjoy free time until midday checkout. Private transfer to Chiang Mai Airport or your hotel in Chiang Mai city.
