Reunification Palace

With dissonant architecture and the eerie mood when walking its deserted halls, Reunification Palace is home of the president of South Vietnam during the American War. It plays an important role in Vietnamese history since the very first communist tanks crashed through the gates on April 30, 1975, which leads to Saigon’s official surrender. Until now, it is still well-preserved as it was in 1966. You can take a walk there at your leisure.

Being a bustling market and a social center, Ben Thanh market is surely a must-see attraction when you are in Saigon. If you find it boring after years of shopping at malls and commercial centers, exploring Asian markets, especially Ben Thanh market, is a totally different experience. There are so many kinds of items here. You can try Vietnamese food such as “banh xeo”, “banh cuon” and “cha gio”, or buy clothing, bags, jewelery and even eye-catching local handicrafts for friends.
