Vientiane, the largest city and capital of Laos is one of the most popular tourism destinations for tourists coming to this country. Even though it’s a small city, it offers so much to see that you are sure to have a memorable experience. Indochina tours
Vientiane is one of the world’s friendliest capitals. It’s compact, and slightly fraying around the edges, but the somewhat ramshackle colonial buildings and scented shrub filled gardens add to the charm.
Like the rest of Laos, Vientiane has a tropical monsoon climate, with mostly hot and humid weather year round.
The peak season is from November to February. The rainy season is over, and the heat relents. Daytime’s temperatures range is from 64 to 82 degrees—still pretty warm and extremely enjoyable. Another mini high season happens in August. Accommodations can fill far in advance, so be sure to reserve rooms ahead of time. Laos tour packages
Rainfall does vary by regions in Laos, and Vientiane is actually one of the locations that get a bit more rain. As it is in the Mekong, the all year round temperatures are in the low to upper 80s or higher during the day and only the low 70s in the night. In the cool season between November and February things can be a bit on the cooler side, but even in January it is hard to know its winter in Vientiane.
Be sure to bring an umbrella, but you can still hope the sun to peak out a bit during this time as well. Things dry out in November and from the late fall to late winter in February it does cool down a bit in Vientiane. The heat picks up from March and April, but this time of year is mostly dry, when averages sway between 77 and 93 degrees.
With above features, the best time to travel Vientiane is the cool season, from November to February. By November, the rains are usually over and all rivers are navigable and roads are passable.
